$18,000 was raised for the Plant-A-Tree programme under Garden City Fund, a registered charity and IPC established by National Parks Board through the inaugural Huttons x OneMillionTrees Sustainability Walk 2024. In total, Huttons has raised $58,000 for tree planting in support of the OneMillionTrees movement since August 2022.

More than 1,200 participants took part in the walk held at East Coast Park Angsana Green on 7 July 2024, 7am.

The event was graced by Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for National Development & Communications and Information who flagged off and took part in the walk for sustainability.

Mr Mark Yip, Chief Executive Officer of Huttons Group said, “It was a fun and memorable day for all of us. The collective efforts of everyone from members of the community and the various stakeholders in the real estate industry make this event possible. We hope this effort will help improve our urban environment and enhance our resilience towards climate change, ultimately transforming Singapore into a City in Nature which is a key pillar of the Singapore Green Plan 2030.”

Participants gained knowledge about the sustainability features incorporated in the various projects across Singapore by developers – City Developments Limited, Far East Organization, Goodland Group, GuocoLand, MCL Land and WingTai Asia.

They also learned about the Active Health programmes conducted by ActiveSG. Last but not least, Immortalize, Singapore’s most comprehensive elderhood marketplace and information provider, created greater awareness about legacy planning and shared about its first nationwide Championship for Will of Fortune, a legacy planning strategy card game, which will take place in 4Q 2024.

“A big thank you to Huttons and sponsors for their active and steadfast contributions towards the OneMillionTrees movement. Thank you also to NParks and SportSG colleagues for supporting this event.

This year, Huttons expanded its initiatives by organising the first sustainability walk to bring together more people to appreciate our local parks and nature, as well as to raise awareness and support our country’s efforts towards net zero emissions by 2050.

Today’s walk is a very good start and a very good effort. Every little bit counts towards making Singapore greener. Let’s all play our part for a more sustainable future for the world and our children.” says Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for National Development & Communications and Information.
